Anyone have any tried and true secrets for reducing red, puffy eyes? I've never been able to find anything that works and I'm not looking forward to a meeting with 5 undergraduates and my advisor tomorrow looking like . . . well, like I do right now . . . and I'll only wake up looking worse.

cucumbers on the eyes.

Dammit. I have none. I shall buy some tomorrow . . .

Get a washcloth wet with cold water and leave it over your eyes for as long as you can stand it. That will help take the redness/puffiness away. And take a couple ibuprofen (or any other anti inflammatory) to help with the swelling.

And the result was probably as good as I was going to get it this morning. I never actually thought to take ibuprofen for the puffy eyes - it just so happened that I also had a headache this morning (last night was that kind of crying), so I took 3 Advil. With the cold for several minutes it seemed to make me at least look presentable enough for the undergraduates . . .

I'm second the cold washcloth idea. And nap: naps always help whatever ails you.

Yes, hopefully I will be getting more of the latter. Couldn't sleep last night, so I have hopes for tonight . . .
