In the midst of experimenting with this whole dating thing, I've realized a few things . . .

I am worth someone's time. I am worth more than the occasional "Oh look, I'm free tonight, are you?" text message when it's convenient. In fact, I am worth a spot in someone's schedule. I am worth someone wanting to plan to see me. I am worth the occasional phone call. I am worth someone's attention, even in the company of others. I am worth more than an occasional night of rolling around under the covers.

No matter how bright, witty, geeky, nerdy, adorable, and all around perfect I may think someone is, from now on they shall fall to the bottom of my list of priorities if they can't see all of these things.

And because I'm such a dork, I'm going to save this one in memories, for me to read over and over again when I forget (as I no doubt often will).

I agree with this post! And I want to add this: if someone can't see that you are worth planning time to see or calling or attention, then they don't deserve to be on your list. Period. Life is way too short to waste your time on or with someone who refuses to recognize all the goodness that is within you. I can say that with some small amount of authority as a 30 something who wishes she had known and believed the same ideas earlier in her own life.
